Checking alerts

 

Prerequisite

  • Access to the Configuration > Alerts (CM034) menu.

 

Introduction

SoftExpert Configuration provides a menu in which account administrators can access the alert screen to check the health of the main SoftExpert Suite services, such as: e-mail server, full-text search, data sources, and more.

In addition to allowing for defining the systems that will have the alert on and configuring the analysis recurrence, this screen offers explanations on what to do in case of issues with a service.

It is also possible to check the status history of each service and the messages shown for each one of them.

 

Checking alerts

1. Access the Configuration > Alerts (CM034) menu.

2. Select the Configuration tab.

3. Hover the mouse over the info-circle-alt.png icon, located next to the name of each service, to see a description of what the service does and how to proceed in case of issues.

4. Use the button to execute a new verification of the current status of the service.

 

Configuring recurrence

It is possible to configure the recurrence of the analysis for each one of the services shown on the screen.

1. In the field of the service for which you wish to configure the recurrence, click on the button.

2. On the screen that will open, fill in the Start field with the start date and time of the recurrence.

3. Define how the recurrence will end:

No end date The recurrence will have no defined end.
Ends after The recurrence will end after a certain number of occurrences. In the Occurrences field, enter the number of analyses after which the alerts will end.
Ends on The recurrence will end on a specific date. In the End field, enter the date on which the analyses will end.

4. Choose the frequency of the recurrence:

No recurrence The service analysis will have no specific frequency.
Monthly The service analysis will be carried out on a certain day of a specific month. In the Month field that will be displayed, check the months in which the service analysis must be carried out. For example: March, June, September, and November.
Weekly The service analysis will be carried out on specific days of the week. In the Day field that will be displayed, check the days on which the service analysis must be carried out. For example: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Daily The service analysis will be carried at intervals of days. In the Execute every field that will be displayed, enter the desired interval of days. For example: every 2 days, every 5 days, etc.
Minutes The service analysis will be carried out at intervals of minutes. In the Execute every field that will be displayed, enter the desired interval of minutes. For example: every 2 minutes, every 10 minutes, every 3 hours, etc.
Single run The service analysis will be carried out only once.

5. Click on the button.

By using the Alerts (CM034) menu, it is possible to check if the system services are running as they should and fix any errors before they cause problems in the routine.
